Welcome to The New Blood

For those of you wondering what you've stumbled onto, my name is Michael Seigler, and I'm running a campaign for the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer Role-Playing Game for my friends. But its not just any game. The only person playing who has prior knowledge of the show is Grant, who plays Angel (which works out since Angel always knew slightly more than he was letting on).

So we've got Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Cordelia, Angel, and Oz joining the cast from the get-go, rather than waiting a season, all played by kids who are the right age, but don't know the stories they're getting into. It should provide for some interesting tangents from the shows plot, especially considering that the romantic pairings that the show offered us are likely not to fall in the same order they did in the show, if at all.

I'll be running mostly show episodes, although they're definitely going to be run somewhat out of order, for the sake of the characters. For instance, I'm planning on running 1.11 Out of Mind, Out of Sight right after 1.3 The Witch in order to better integrate Cordelia with the group as early as possible. However, I won't be running every episode, just because some of them wouldn't work as well in an RPG setting where the characters don't have a script (2.16 Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered comes to mind as an excellent example), and I will also be running some episodes of my own design, in addition to the five episodes that Eden Studios printed before they lost the license to print the RPG.

Updates should come roughly every two weeks, since that's when the games are. I hope everyone has fun reading this new twist on these classic tales!
